Often with soft dream-pop, the colours are psychedelic pastels and, as the genre suggests, combined with either a dreamy lightness, often contrasted with nightmarish dark. This video for Apply by Glasser is more or less a continuous shot of abstract pulsating visuals, with superimposed shots of the singer. It's often hard to determine where one shot ends and another begins - there are around forty shots in this clip, which is a relatively small amount for a music video but the flowing nature of the song allows the lyrics and visuals to work in harmony.

This video also has around 100 shots, which is still a small amount as the video is over six and a half minutes long. The hypnotic vocals merge well with the soft psychedelic shots of fireworks, which are edited to be backwards to give hallucinogenic feel to the video. Most videos from this genre are essentially experimental and 'trippy', and the intimate nature of this video engulfs the audience in the haunting storyline. Most of the video is set in the woods, with the band (who are all girls) frolicking between skeletal trees, wearing all white. At around 5:40 the shots speed up, and there are about 60 split-second shots in the space of around 30 seconds. This is complimented by heavy bass, and creates a powerful climax at the end of the video.

This video contains exactly 50 shots, which seems low for a normal music video, but the genre is dream pop and by nature slower than most other genres, so it fits the genre very well, along with the dreamlike visuals.
The Smiths - There is a Light That Never Goes Out
This video by The Smiths for the song "There is a Light That Never Goes Out" contains 82 shots. This is about the right amount for a normal alt/indie music video. The Smiths employ elements of dream pop but a lot of their songs are more up tempo, that is not to say upbeat, as a lot of their music is famed for being depressing in a way.
